The 2019 UEFA Super Cup was played in August of 2019 at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands and pitted 2018-19 UEFA Champions League winners Manchester City against 2018-19 UEFA Europa League champions Borussia Dortmund. Despite falling behind 2-0 to City early, Dortmund - under new manager André Schubert - fought back to force a 2-2 draw with a last-second goal in stoppage time by Christian Pulisic, and Dortmund would go on to win on penalties, 4-2.
