The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2020 or simply Euro 2020, will be the 16th edition of the European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organized by UEFA.
It will be held in thirteen cities in thirteen different European countries during the summer of 2020 (with the exact date to be announced later). Portugal are the defending champions, having won the 2016 edition.
There were arguments at the drawing of the Groups as Portugal slipped down in the Fifa rankings. In the pots they slipped to an astonishing Pot 3 after losing 1-0 to San Marino.
