Hugh Freeze (born September 27, 1969) is a retired American football coach who was the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels football team from 2012 until his retirement following the 2028 season. During that time, he became the winningest coach in Ole Miss history and led the Rebels to a 38-game winning streak from October of 2017 until their defeat by Texas in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl. During the historic streak, the Rebels were back-to-back SEC champions, posting consecutive undefeated seasons in SEC play, had a Heisman winner in Shea Patterson and were the national champions of the 2018-19 NCAA Division-I FBS season. Freeze is the only college coach to have ever beaten a Nick Saban-coached team back-to-back on two occasions.
